THE AMAZING KEYSTONE BIG BAND
After the success of their jazz adaptations of Pierre et le Loup and Le Carnaval jazz des animaux, the seventeen musicians of the Amazing Keystone Big Band continue their adventure to educate the public—both young and old—about jazz in all its forms with a new show, Monsieur Django & Lady Swing: a dazzling musical tale, told with panache by Guillaume Gallienne, created entirely around the music of one of the best jazz guitarists of his time, Django Reinhardt.
AN AUDIOBOOK, A RECORD, A SHOW.
In order to create this musical tale, the Amazing Keystone Big Band has arranged Django Reinhardt's best pieces, which for the most part were originally designed for a very small number of instruments, for jazz band. Heading the band, trumpet player David Enhco, saxophonist Jon Boutellier, trombonist Bastien Ballaz, and pianist Fred Nardin offer three ways to discover this new musical tale, Monsieur Django and Lady Swing: a record on the Nome label, an audio book published by Gautier-Languereau, and a show in Paris on March 11, 2018, at Salle Pleyel.
Thanks to the unique focus given to the music of Django Reinhardt, a fun and joyful musical tale comes to life.
