The Music of George Gershwin
We envisioned Fascinating Rhythm(s) as a kaleidoscope celebrating George and Ira Gershwin. The twelve tracks, arranged by Bastien Ballaz and Jon Boutellier, offer a wide range of styles, from avant-garde sounds to the most fiery swing, and from blues to 70s Brazilian music. Each piece is a playground for the seventeen musicians of the big band, showcasing the five young singers we’ve invited — a testament to the vitality of today’s jazz scene: Neïma Naouri, Benny Benack III, Fleur Worku, Pablo Campos, and Charlotte Wassy.
