For these twelve new titles recorded in New York, Hugo Lippi has created the ideal combo for his bohemian and elegant swing, with the french pianist Fred Nardin, the bassist from Portland Ben Wolfe and the drummer from Louisiana Donald Edwards, two virtuosos of the Lincoln Center of Wynton Marsalis. The alchemy of this quartet, always in balance, takes us into a marvelous jazz dream with a thousand colors whether in the original compositions of Lippi or the covers of standards like Manoir de mes rêves by Django Reinhardt, God Bless The Child by Billie Holiday, Humpty Dumpty by Chick Corea or Freedom Jazz Dance by Eddie Harris.


FRED NARDIN - Pianist, composer and arranger

Born in 1987, Fred Nardin started playing the piano at age five. He entered the Conservatoire de Chalon-sur-Saône to study classical music and later became part of the jazz class there, directed by Sylvain Beuf. At eighteen, he joined the Department of Jazz and Improvised Music at the Conservatoire de Paris.

He graduated in 2011 alongside Hervé Sellin, Riccardo Del Fra, François Therbege, Glenn Ferris, and Dré Pallemaerts. Two years later, his passion for writing and cinema led him to take a film score writing class directed by Laurent Petitgirard and Marie-Jeanne Serero. ... Read more
