Sophie Alour’s funky fifth album
The birth of this fifth opus, Shaker, is driven by fun and the pleasures of dressing up. On this record, Sophie Alour brings together original compositions from different periods of her life. Some, like "Shaker" and "Joke," written for Rhoda Scott, are a nod to the ’60s, important years for the beginnings of funk. Others sound more rock. These were designed for a different instrumentation, magnified by a new orchestration around the organ. For this adventure, Sophie Alour had two accomplices, Frédéric Nardin on the organ and Frédéric Pasqua on drums.
Line up: Sophie Alour (saxophones and flute), Fred Nardin (Hammond B3 organ), Fred Pasqua (drums, tambourine) - guest : Julien Alour (trumpet 4, 7, 9), Hugo Lippi (guitar 4, 7, 9), Julie Saury (drums 7, guiro 9)
